Estate Planning

Putting together a comprehensive estate plan equals peace of mind.

What benefits does estate planning offer?  It’s as easy as A-B-C!

  • Avoid Probate – When someone in California passes away with only a will (or no will at all), their heirs must open a costly and time-consuming probate action where a judge determines the distribution of assets.

A comprehensive estate plan avoids that process and allows distributions to occur quickly and without court intervention.

  • Beneficiary Designation – Customize who inherits your assets and how much they receive, working closely with an attorney to ensure your wishes are carried out.

  • Creditor Protection – Under California Code of Civil Procedure §336.2, any outstanding creditors of an estate have one year to open a probate themselves. Without an estate plan in place, your creditors can attach to an open probate and take away from what your beneficiaries receive.
